How to Choose the Right Bicycle Frame Size | Measure Inseam Length
OMO BikesShare
Choosing the correct frame size is one of the most important steps when buying a bicycle. A frame that is too small or too large can make riding uncomfortable and reduce control. While detailed geometry charts are the most accurate way to compare bicycles, inseam length is a simple and reliable way to check whether a frame is likely to fit you.
How to Measure Your Inseam
- Remove your shoes and stand with your back against a wall.
- Keep your feet about 15–20 cm (6–8 inches) apart.
- Place a hardcover book firmly between your legs, pressing it upward to simulate a bicycle saddle.
- Keep the book level and mark the top edge on the wall.
- Measure the distance from the floor to the mark. This is your inseam length.
- For the most accurate result, repeat the measurement 2–3 times and use the average.

Tip: Your inseam should be equal to or slightly greater than the bicycle's standover height for a comfortable fit.
